BV SHORT CROPS Washington, Oct 12.-Short crops of corn, potatoes, hay and oats and a good crop of cotton have had their offect on the prices which are being paid to farmers for their products. Inquiry by tbo department of agriculture agri-culture regarding prices paid on Oct 1, comparsd with that dale a year ago, shows that barley averaged 45.G per cent higher; potatoes. 30.2 per cent higher; hay. 22.7 per cont higher; high-er; oats. 17.4 per cont: corn, 7.5 per cont higher; buckwheat, 2.1 per cent lower; wheat, 5.7 per cent lower; eggs, in. 7 per cont lower; flaxseed. 12.4 per cont lower, and cotton, 23.3 per cont lower. |
