Show OIIIll POLICY FOR THE POLICE A meeting was held yesterday afternoon after-noon at the police station at which all the regular patrolmen and detectives detec-tives were present for the purpose of giving tho force some instructions as to their duties in the luture. The meeting was addressed by Commissioner Browning, Chief of Police Po-lice Norton and Juvenile Officer Jacobs. Ja-cobs. Chief Norton said the meeting was partly for tho instruction of the force and partly for the outlining of tho policy of the new administration as rogards to tho police force. Chief Norton said ho Bhould state clearly to the officers under him whnt his ideas wero and the meaning and object of the changes that have been made. Commissioner Browning's remarks were along the same lines as those of Chief Norton. The Juvenile authorities have been of the opinion that in the past tho force had not given' -proper attention to the juvenile work, and it was for the purpose of Impressing the Importance Im-portance of thlH work upon the officers offi-cers that the Juvenile ofllcer addressed them. Mr Jacobs outlined the policy of the Juvenilo authorities and explained ex-plained tholr Ideas with the view of in the future having a closer alliance between these two branches of the city government |
