Corrlgan, os..iiiant giand chief of the Brotherhood Brother-hood of Locomotive Engineers, with headquarters at Cleveland, Ohio, and representing 70,000 locomotive engineers, engi-neers, Is In Salt Lake In connection with the present difficulties existing between tho management of the Oregon Ore-gon Short Lino rallrond and its loco- ' motive engineers. He Is conferring with the local officials of tho Rio Grande and San Pedro routes. E C 'Manson, general superintendent of tho Oregon Short Line, met with the local representatives of the employes yesterday afternoon, but the result of tho meeting was not made public With a view of offering suggestions as to the bettcrmout of the engineers' working conditions and the strengthening strength-ening of the organizations of all roads, Mr Corrigan will address a Joint meeting of the engineers of all the roads entering here Wednesday night. At an Informal meeting held last night In the Cullon hotol Mr Corrigan discussed the present situation of the engineers with James Carr, general chairman of tho committee of adjustments adjust-ments of tho Oregon Short Line rail- ' road, G A. McLaln, chief engineer of the Oregon Short Line: J G By-water, By-water, chlof engineer of the Denver & Rio Grande railroad, and other -local officials. |
