Show Monthly Inspection Causes a Raise in the Quality of the Milk, Cream and Ice Cream, in theQijy Inspector Child's Complete Report. ' 5 There Is a marked Improvement In the quality of milk, cream and Ice cream distributed to consumers Iu Oils city, according to the monthly report Just Issued to the sanitary board by W. D. Child, city Inspector of provisions. The report of one month ago showed that several nupplles of milk and tho other products were Just up to tho standard required by the board, whilo one or two fell bolow the requirement. It Is very evident that a monthly Inspection In-spection of dairy products has had a tendency to raise the quality materially. material-ly. According to tho standard established estab-lished by the inspector puro milk should show a specific gravity between 29.0 and 31.0, and is deemed adulterated adulter-ated if it contains more than js.j per cent of water or fluids, less than 12 per cent of milk solidu und less than 32 per cent fat 3ollds. First grade cream musi contain 30 per cent fat .solids; second grade cream must contain 24 per cent fat solids, and third grade crenm must contain IS per cent fat solids. Ice cream must contain not less than 14 per cent of butler fat.
