Show THE SENSATION Of THE. SEASON Cunning the Jail Breaker vs. W. H. Wright &. Sons Co., Orpheum Theatre. What promises to be a highly sensational sensa-tional and most Intensely Interesting exhibition of cleverness and skill, coupled lth an element of mystery that has astounded and mystified many of tho master minds or this and many other countries, will be seen at The Orpheum Theatre on Wednesday evening even-ing when Cunning, the Jail Breaker, will endeavor to escapo from a specially spec-ially constructed packing case made for tho purposo by the employes of tho shipping department of the W H Wright & Sons Co . storo A number of these gentlemen attended the Sunday Sun-day performance of Cunning and became be-came much Interested in the easy manner In which he released himself from all manner of restraint. In discussing dis-cussing tho matter it was suggested by one of tho party that while these things appeared very wonderful and mystifying it would be a matter of great satisfaction to know If they could be accomplished under the auspices aus-pices of entirely disinterested people bringing their own paraphernalia and taking complete charge of the test This idea was communicated to Mr Goss, the manager of the house, who in turn presented It to Mr Cunning, who assured him Immediately of his willingness to accept the challenge Mr Goss having In contemplation a benefit for the employe's of the house at once conceived the Idea of engaging engag-ing Cunning for the event, and making the box test one of tho many features of the evening's performance. The omployes of Wrights, from the manager down to the office boy havo entered heanilv into the splrltof tho thing and promise lively times for Cunning when they get to work with their hammers, wire staples and nails. Many of thoso who attended the Sunday Sun-day night performance have signified their intention or again being present on Wednesday night, and whllo the programme will be very materially changed it will contain all the leading features that were so thoroughly en-Jojed en-Jojed by those present at the Sunday exhibition. Mr. Cunning does not state positively that he will escapo from this restraint as it Is purely experimental ex-perimental In it's nature, but those who know and havo seen the many wbnderful and apparently Impossible feats performed by this justly celebrated cele-brated IndMdual are strong in their convictions that, he will be successful success-ful In this case; '"and while opinions differ In 'all cases where a contest of this kind is brought about In tho habit of backing their opinion with "the coin of the realm" those attending attend-ing the performance may be assured assur-ed of an evening of clean, iustruc- tlve and refined amusement. Tho performance per-formance presented by Mr. Cunning Is novel in the extreme and in but very few ways does It resemble that given by others who aspire to honors In this particular line, many of his featuro acts are entirely original with him and are performed hy no person on earth; his Scientific Jail Breaking as he is pleased to call It, Is recognized recogniz-ed by all authorities to be tho most wonderful thing of It's kind over presented pre-sented to the amusement public Those of Ogden's citizens who are desirous of keeping their city up to tho high standard of modern development develop-ment as It pertains to theatricals and amusements, and who appreciate the efforts of Mr. Goss and his numerous assistants in their endeavors to furnish fur-nish it to them, should turn out en masse on Wednesday evening and show their appreciation of" their past efforts, and encourage them in the efforts ef-forts that they wilf yet put forth in behalf of Ogden amusements. It Is to be hoped that the people of Ogden will look at It in this light and that the Orpheum will contain a capacity audience aud-ience on this occasion. - |
