"We do not mean to stale," said the representative of the big show, who is here today, "that wc wero always successful, becauee year after year we came home to winter quarters with a sad deficit In our treasury, a monetary loss which was only offset by tho firm belief and conviction that "some day or other the gToat American public would realize tho conditions under which wc had been laboring and appreciate ap-preciate our efforts In the direction of furnishing clean and wholesome entertainment en-tertainment of particular merit. Tho season of 1910 found Jus In the field with a larger circus than we had ever offered before, but porhapB tho most notable departure was our announcement an-nouncement that the general admission admis-sion price had been cut to 25 cents. It was the first time In the history of mighty amiiRement undertakings that an attraction costing approximately $3,000 a day to operate had been offered of-fered at Just ono-half the price which custom had made almost Imperative. "People older In the circus than wo were asserted that such a raovo meant financial ruin, but we felt then as we do now that tho era of popular-priced entertainments was at hand, and therefore were willing to become pioneers In a march of progress which wp aro now assured threatens to revolutionize revo-lutionize the business of catering to the public taste. It Is sufficlont to state that last season sea-son playing to the cut price we scored tho first real success In our history. This year our policy will be the Bame. A reference to our program will be proof positive to our patrons that we do not exaggerate when we slate that wp have onlp.rged our circus to almost twice Its rormer pronortlou Tho price of 25 cents general admission remains the same Wc do not want our patrons pat-rons to pay any more than that. Anywhere Any-where thnt the" tickets are on sale 25 cents is tho standard price. Thcro Is absolutely no exception to this rule. The ticket wagons will bo open at 0 o'clock on the morning of each performance. per-formance. Patrons purchasing admission admis-sion tickets enn do so with the assurance assur-ance that the will be honored cither at tho matinee or evening performances." |
