Show 00 TELLS OF PLOT ., TORUINMM PITTSBURG, Pa., May 18. -r James Elliott, a structural Iron worker, is held by the police for Investigation following an alleged confession mado to officers of tho local union, lm- "Heating Detectivo W. J. Burns, Attorney Walter Drew and lo- cal detectives in a plot to ruin John J. McNamara and others. James Elliott, a structural Iron worker of this city, appeared before labor leaders here tonight and mado an alleged confession in which he charged officers of tho National Erectors Erec-tors association and detectives employed em-ployed by it with wrecking buildings throughout the country constructed by non-union labor. The alleged confession was made to William Kelly, president of the Iron gty Trades council, A. L. Lyons, secretary of the Structural Iron Workers' Work-ers' union, and W. H..LegIeiluor. vice president of tho International Association Asso-ciation of Bridge and Structural Iron Workers. It was sworn to before a notary The labor leaders then turned turn-ed Elliott over to the police, who aro holding him for further investigation. The affidavit was not given out, but in his statement to the police Elliott said ho had made the confession because be-cause he was not paid for information furnished the Erectors' association and for which he was promised ?1,000. |
