Dr. PIdcook', made an Investigation jesterday afternoon regarding tho health conditions at Clinton, It having rorforted that smallpox small-pox prevails there. The physician statos that there Is not a case of smallpox In the place, but thnt there ure from twenty to thirty cases of measles In a mild form. A strict quarantine Is being maintained maintain-ed and the health officers aro of the opinion that the spread of the disease will bo averted. ' It is said by tho countv physician, howccr, that if the diso'ases 6hould spread to much greater extent, it will be necessary to esLibllhh a general quaruntiuo of that locality. The foar now Is thnt the disease will spread oer Hooper to such an oxtent that complications may arise. Thero arc now ten cases In Hooper, all of which ar6 under quarantine.
