Show POLICE EXCEED THEIR AUTHORITY BERLIN, Jan. 23. At the second trial today of men accused of taking part in tho strlko riots In the Moablte quarter, tho presiding judge took occasion oc-casion to say that citizens were Justified Justi-fied In resisting police officers who excoeded tholr authority. During the disorders, a squad of mounted police rodo down and sabrod a party of newspaper representatives. Referring to the case of an innocent pedestrian, whom the police had killed, kill-ed, the court declared that any one who shot down a guilty policeman was within his rights aud could not bo punished. The judge who presided at the first trial also censured the officers of-ficers of tho law, and tho prosecutor at tho present proceeding declared tho guardians of tho peace had committed com-mitted excesses in suppros3lng the riots. |
