Show UU J BECK TUNNEL HAS SHIPPED FOUR CARS Whon asked on Wednesday for their opinion of present and futuro Bock Tunnel underground conditions, Dlrec tors Jesso Knight and W. Lester Wan-gum Wan-gum pointed to tho fact that at the regular monthly meeting of tho board laBt Saturday no assessment was levied. lev-ied. This indicated at the time tho conviction of the officinls of the Beck Tunnel company la bound to make Its own way and to meet tho indebtedness through shipments of ore. and Messrs. Knight and Mangum stated yesterday that everything seemed favorable for the realization of this hope. Four cars of good grnde oro havo been shipped by the company since the compromise with the Uncle Snm Consolidated. Con-solidated. The ore body seems to be following the Uncle Sam ' boundary line to the south with unerring faithfulness, faith-fulness, and the Beck Tunnel management manage-ment Is sending a drift to. the south on tho tunnel level bo that when tho body leaves tho Uncle Sam southeast corner tie same will be available im-menlately im-menlately for Beck Tunnel extraction and shipment. It Is known also that there Is ore eleven feet below the tunnel level. The Iron Blossom, they stated, is doing fine work. Only a few months 'ago, It will bo recalled, the treasury was poorly provided, with ready cash. yet the earnings of the .past two months have netted enough money to pay $100,000 in dividends, besides leaving a comfortable cash surplus on hand Most all this ore, or 200 tons dally, came from tho No 1 shaft resources, re-sources, very little from the No. 3 shaft Inasmuch as the No. 3 shaft oro is richer than that from the No. 1, the results of the past quartor have been mightily satisfactory to tho officials. offi-cials. In the north drift on the 000 level from shaft No. 1 the management reported re-ported early Wednesday morning assays as-says of sixty ounces sliver and some gold per ton. The gold alues were not recalled by Messrs. Knight and Mangum, but the gold ranges anywhere any-where from $2 to $20 per ton and a great manj shipments of oro running run-ning $10 gold per ton have been made. This C?$ level work is demonstrating clearly the continuity of the ore, for the same body is had on the 400, 500 and COO levels now. It will take sixty days yet for tho drift on tho GOO-level of tho No. 3 shaft to hit tho high-grade and large oro body first found by the cave several sev-eral months ago. |
