Show Civic Clubs Form Association H. Ray Pond, of Richmond, member of the Cache county .commission, .com-mission, Saturday assumed duties as chairman of the newly-formed Associated Civic Clubs of Cache Valley, it was announced by Asa Bullen, president of the Logan chamber of commerce, sponsoring organization. H. R. Adams, principal of South Cache high school at Hyrum, and representative of the Hyrum Lions Li-ons club, and James O. Stewart, supervisor of the Cache National forest, were named assistants to Mr. Pond. M. R. Hovey will serve as secretary. "Purpose of the new association associa-tion is not to supercede the associated as-sociated civic clubs of northern Utah but to supplement its work and coordinate activities that involve in-volve Cache valley," Mr. Bullen said. "Activities in road construction, construc-tion, advertising and tourist Interests, In-terests, along with other postwar projects, will be considered ' by the new unit." Representatives- include Ipan Richmond, Lewiston, Newton, Hyrum, Providence! and Wells, ville Lions clubs; Smithfield and Logan Kiwanis clubs; Cache county coun-ty and Logan city commissions; Logan junior and senior chambers of commerce and Logan Rotary club. Mendon also will be invited invit-ed to send a representative. .' The group ;weht on record as favoring more frequent meetings of the associated civic clubs of northern Utah. 1 The first official meeting will be held April' 12, with each organization or-ganization expected to name its official representative before that time, Mr. Bullen announced. |
