The; stage was picturesquely decorated as a scout summer camp and the program pro-gram was presented there among the pines. Troop 54 of Third Ward was presented with their 10 year award which included a beautiful shield to be placed on the flag staff. Eighteen other awards were gven to the boys of Smithfield troops by chairman H. O. Van Orden. Dr. R. V. One interesting fact brought out at the program was the high rank that Smith-field Smith-field boys have beld in scouting. Dr. Larson was at one time the youngest Eagle Scout in the United States and he held that distinction until another Smith-field Smith-field Scout took the honor by gaining his Eagle award Just a little bit younger. The general arrangements for the program were under the direction of S:outmaster Clark Thornley. Oliver Nilson conducted the meeting. |
