Show 4-H Club News" i The Smithfield 4-H Pheasant and Poultry club held their Sth meeting of the year at the home of Wayne Geary on June 19, at 8 p. m. The purpose of the meeting meet-ing was to carry on wr.;h our 1-H work as outlined for the year by the club leader. Gordon Erickson took charge of the meeting. Wayne gave his report on common com-mon colds of poultry. The rest of the time was spent in discussion on poultry diseases. The purpose of the meeting meet-ing was to take up records and scrap book work. Also plan a trip to the swimming pool. The club I was highly honored with two j visitors, Professor Frischknect of the Utah Agricultural Coliege poultrf department and Ruebon Hansen our assistant county agent. ag-ent. J The Junior-Wildlife club held their 9th meeting of the year at the home of Wesley" Reese on Jnne26, at 8 p. m. The following items were taken sP, Enemies of the Pheasant; Importance of san- I itation as fresh water and clean ' feed and also shade. - The following club members won a free trip to Springville and to the fish and game farm with the assistant county agent Ruben Hansen on June 30th; Gordon Erickson, George Thornley, Vincent Vin-cent Milligan, Royce Lundberg, aad Yayne Geary. The club received re-ceived 800 young pheasants, the most any club has received in the state. The first year members received re-ceived 32 chicks, and the second and third year members received 4 2 chicks. The club was honored by having as their guest Mr. R. L Rallison of Logan. Wesley Reese gave his report on the feeding and caring of the young pheasant chicks. The next club meetinu wil be held at the home of Eva Lew West on July 10 th, at 8 p.m. |
