Will Compete For War Bonds War bonds will be the prizes offered of-fered to students of the three Utah Universities who win a speech contest on the subject, "Varsity Views on How to Win the War." An alumnus of Utah State Agricultural Ag-ricultural college, now residing in Washington, D. C, is sponsor of the plan. Triplicate letters were sent to President E. G. Peterson of USAC, President LeRoy E. Cowles of the University of Utah and President Franklin S. Harris of Brigham Young University, outlining outlin-ing the project. The first three prizes will be given, consisting of a $25 war bond for the top-ranking speech presented by a student In each institution. in-stitution. Large-scale contests will not be held. Instead, the Varsity Views will be given to a state-wide radio audience au-dience on April 13, the birthday of Thomas Jefferson. On a basis of acceptable participation, current books on international relations will be given other contestants. |
