Show Celebrates Golden Wedding Anniversary Mrs. Amelia Hillyard, a former resident of this city, but now residing in Auburn, Wyoming, was honored on May IS in torn, memoration of her golden wed-ding wed-ding anniversary. About fifty relatives and friends from Cache Valley joined with her friends and relatives of Star Valley la a real celebration. The social was featured with a dinner, .which was prepared by neighbors and served in the Auburn Au-burn ward meeting house. Abou,t ' one hundred fifty were seated to large tables, where a dinner, very appropriate for the occasion was served. Following the dinner an enjoyable program was carried out with the following taking part: Life Sketch of grandfather and grandmother Hillyard by Eliza Cantwell, piano solo, Mar-va Mar-va Lou Hillyard, readings by Joan Johnson and Eunice Hillyard, Hill-yard, reminiscences by Bishop Sylvester Low and harmonica selections sel-ections by Aleda Hillyard. The tables were beautifully decorated with garden flowers and a large wedding cake. The afternoon program consisted of games and social visiting. Dancing Danc-ing was the order of the eveninif and a very pleasant time was experienced. Many beautiful presents pres-ents were received by Mrs. Hillyard. Hill-yard. On the following day a Hillyard Hill-yard family reunion was held. , Officers for the organization were . . selected and the business tor tha following year was outlined. It was unanimously agreed by all presHut Uiat ihej had uuen very hospitably entertained by the fine people of Star Valley. Those attending the outing and social so-cial from Cache Valley were: Mr. and Mrs. Helmer Johnson, Mr. ' and Mrs. Hillyard Johnson and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Johnson and Mrs. Owen Hillyard of Logan; Mr. and Mrs. Ira. Hillyard, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Hillyard and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hillyard and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Hillyard and family, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hillyard, Hill-yard, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hillyard, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Hillyard and family, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Cantwell, Mr. Fred Hillyard, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lower, Mr. Truman Hillyard and family. Miss Verla Hillyard, Mrs. Mllo Cantwell and Bishop Sylvester Low all of Smithfleld; Mrs. Elaine Hyer and family of Lewis-ton Lewis-ton and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Theur-er Theur-er of Providence. The following tribute was given giv-en by Annie P. M. Hepworth t$ the honored cuest: Dear Sister Hillyard. As the soft silvery moonlight follows the golden glory of the sun; as the gentle veht twilight follows the ridiant Hgfct of day; now to you Sister Hillyard come gently and tenderly, the golden years of your life, following the silvery days of your powers. You, Sister Hillyard, first Impressed Im-pressed me as the most beautiful woman of middle age I knew. You now impress me as the most beautiful woman of older age I know. Though sorrows deeper than any of us here have known hav many times filled your silver years, you never faLtered. You carried your head aloft with the honor and dignity of a queen which you are Sister Hillyard a "queen mother. You have borne your children nobly; you have cherished them with love and tenderness; you have given most of them and their father, your companion, back to help prepare your eternal eter-nal ''Golden Wedding Anniversary." Anniver-sary." Our hearts are touched, our lives are mellowed with, your kindness, your patlenco, your quiet dignity, your sweetness. I with many of your host of friends, your admirers, your loved lov-ed ones, came here to bear you tribute for the "golden" life you have lived. So.
