Show SPRING CITY NOTtS- ! A light coat of the beautiful covers the ground this morning, A plain drunk decorated the interior of the city jail on Monday night. Columbus day is to be celebrated in proper style by our schools. The weather Is growing considerably cooler and as consequence local politicians politi-cians Oh! give ns a rest. Our district school teachers have organized or-ganized for the purpose of professional advancement. They meet once a week, and judging from the interest manifest ' 111 lHefrmee'vln25 they are giving some thought to their work. The R G. W. promised ns a new depot last spring, but it seems as thongh the matter has slipped their memory. Should the officials ever pass this way and gaze for once npon the noble stinctnre which is at present serving them in the capacity of a station house, they woald certainly conclude that enterprise is lacking somewhere. Our post office has been moved into the old drug store building on Main street. A number of new boxes. have been put in, and more is allowed the public than what was formerly enjoyed at the old quarters. We are pleased to note the improvement and must say our post mistress deserves credit for her enterprise. . Some men are born great, others achieve greatness through their pluck, while others have greatness thrust upon them. This la the reason Gen. Weaver is being rotten eggea in certain districts- He not being great by birth nor by achievement, some of his friends persist in thrashing greatness upon him. This comes to him in the shape of eggs of doubtful age. John Hardy, Spring City, October 12, 1892, |
