Show CITY COUNCIL. A special session of the city council was held to consider the ndvisibiiity of ordering the extension of water mains up Third Xorth ttreet, a potitiou from oitizensof the southern part of the city, and any other business demanding at tention. Councilor Snomaker moved that the supervision be authorized to build a bridge between second and third eoutU ou C street west, provided the petitioners petition-ers provide the amount of material aud labor specified in petition. It was decided to use asphalt or tar covered pipe for the extensien of water works aud that it be understood that the water is to be used only for culinary pur poses. Iu the extension two inch pipe will be used one block iu. two blocks aud terminate with l'j in. The extension wis men ordered. The Recorder was instructed to purchase the pipe neeessarf. Azariah Smith was grafted a frie .iceuse fsr his dog. The citizens in district No. 9 were granted the privilege of digging the trouch for the water pipe aud John M)ffi.t, J. Riddle aud F.
