Show RASPBERRY TURNOVERS acup 1 cup sifted enriched flour ln teaspoon salt cup shortening I 1 cup rolled oats uncooked 14 cup sugar 3 2 tablespoons water A 11 teaspoon optional I 1 filling about IL cup raspberry jam 1 sift together flour and salt 2 cut in fit shortening until mixture ture resembles lesem bles coarse crumbs 3 mix alix in rolled oats and sugar 4 add water and almond extract mixing lightly 5 knead dough 4 or 5 strokes until it just holds together roll out to 18 1 8 inch thickness cut in 4 inch rounds 6 place 1 teaspoon jam on each circle fold over and seal edges by pressing with tines ot of a lork fork prick to allow escape of steam place on oa baking sheet 7 bake in a moderately hot oven F 12 to 15 minutes until edges are delicately browned makes 12 turnovers |
