Show news about folks in MILTON AIRS al R MECHAM correspondent phone 65 J jl 1 gordon nelson who has been very ill for the past week at an ogden hospital is reported to be improved mrs airs reta mecham and melba and june and elva mecham attended a trousseau tea in honor of miss norine hoskins in ogden wednesday mr mrs airs archie madsen attended a birthday party in ogden saturday evening for jane kap mr air mrs ralph crouton have moved to murray their daughter linda will remain with her grandparents until school is out A wedding reception was held in the milton recreation hall saturday evening for mr air mrs earl johnson A large crowd was present and many useful gifts were received mr air mrs evan whitbeck and two children of salt lake city spent the week end at the carl olsen home mrs airs alice heiner returned home saturday evening after spending the week in salt lake city mr and mrs airs dick heiner of salt lake city were sunday visitors at her home mrs airs matilda peterson who has been ill for several weeks is reported improved at this writing mr air mrs preston jones and sons gene and leo attended a wedding dinner in honor of mr air mrs airs byron L leland at the home of mrs laura hubbard at willard on sunday mr air mrs airs byron leland have just returned from the south pacific the milton primary association presented their conference to a large audience sunday evening the children took part in a play depicting experiences of the early settlers settler of this community the following is a poem composed by bette mecham president of the milton ward primary welcome dear friends we welcome you tonight were so glad you are here well present to you a program M about our pioneers we love these pioneers of ours many we cannot tell but you who are here tonight god bless and keep you well closing our little parts is over but we want to leave this thought whether Ale mecham cham giles or nielson it surely matters not for they all came here with courage with hope and faith and love and they mastered every trial with help from god above they made this little town of ours with so much sweat and tears we owe so very much to you our wondrous pioneers the following poem was also used in primary conference sunday evening and tells of mrs matilda peterson they did dear friends they surely did they grew up with the land the mother died in GS with a work and toil worn wom hand we have many in our audience who owe these people all the Ni elsons and the Poul sons the petersons so tall the matilda of our program got well when she got here ashes worked hard bard all her ion long af long life and to many she is dear she is 91 instead of six raised a family of eight helped out every way she could never knew a thought of hate ashes helped in relief society primary and sunday school worked with the daughters of the utah pioneers always lived the golden rule ashes attended births and helped at deaths helped people far and near we pay tribute to you tonight our oldest living pioneer pioneer pettie mecham Mec liam |
