Show veterans urged to report on job training abuses the veterans administration in utah is becoming concerned about reported abuses arising in the apprenticeship and on the job training programs for veterans according cordin to wayne C dabb contact representative of the VA office at kiesel building ogden mr dabb points out that I 1 tb the enable program was designed to enable veterans to learn leam gainful oc occupations up oi and that in all cases casc of job training contracts are executed between employer and veteran in which the specific steps of the training program are set forth cases have been reported where employers are not living up to their contract mr dabb said for instance a case has been reported where a veteran signed up to become an auto mechanic has been assigned to running a filling station by his employer this is a violation of the statute under which the job training program was set up it is exploitation of the veteran utah has been more free from abuses of this nature than some other sections of the country aci cording to mr dabb and the VA is striving to keep it so at the present time investigations are being in made of all reported cases of vi violation lation veterans on training programs who believe that the training they are receiving does not measure up to the standards set are urged to report the circumstances to the nearest office of the V A |
