Show county officials report fine meet at cincinnati long to be remembered will be the tenth annual convention of the national association of county officials held at the plaza hotel in cincinnati ohio on june 17 18 19 it was reported by anna sommers county clerk every phase of county government was discussed by such speakers as the hon john curry county commissioner of cleveland eveland CT ohio hon james garfield stewart mayor of cincinnati ilon hon john W bricker of ohio lion abe murdock of utah and hon clair biair engle of california the need of county government functioning to the fullest extent was strongly urged by all speakers and it was pointed out that the necessity of a national association of county officials organization was as becoming stronger all the time in in order to keep the taxpayer more fully informed as to what his tax dollar is buying three chartered buses left utah on june 12 carrying approximately sa K county officials their partners and friends from nearly every county in the state and including three from pendleton ore and three from bannock county idaho convention meetings were held each day from 10 a in to 2 p m and entertainment was provided pr ovidea for the balance of the time A visit to the american roller mills company plant at middleton ohio was wa s enjoy enjoyed e d by the men folk while the ladies were entertained at luncheon and a sightseeing tour of the city all were guests on a boat trip to coney island where entertainment and races were enjoyed on the second day and the third day concluded with a banquet En route the party stopped at chicago for a sightseeing tour and shopping on the return trip all were guests of the geo D barnard company at the open air opera in st louis mrs anna sommers county clerk and lincoln jensen county commissioner were delegates from morgan county mrs jensen and W C nelson were other members of the party from morgan |
