Show FUTURE FARMERS WILL CAN fort FOR WAR RELIEF the future farmers of america has set a goal of ten million cans of food as the contribution ot of its members to the community canning pro igram gram for war relief it was announced today the food Is being processed in tin at school community y canning centers which are operated by local boards of education teachers of vocational rational cat ional agriculture are the local supervisors of these plants and also serve berve as advisors to the future farmers of america this natio national lial organization of young farmers is sponsored by the he t united states office of education its national advisor is W IT T chief agricultural education service U S office of education I 1 chapters ot of future farmers of america are forming flying squadrons to promote the war relief canning projects some of these squadrons are collecting food some are cans some are enlisting volunteers to process the food and some will pack the donated cans for shipment to Eu ropes hungry millions the united nations relief and rehabilitation administration will ship the contributions awards will vill be made by the board of trustees of the future farmers pf af america foundation to the local F F A chapters and state associations that make the largest donations s to the campaign the orga organization rut aaion has members in chapters more than school com canning centers are aval available lable to them the war relief goal of ten million cans for the organization represents an average of 20 cans for each farm family that uses the school corn com J canneries these cans will go on a united nations shelf set aside at each canning center |
