Show UTAH FARM CP CREDIT MAKES ENVIABLE RECORD in salt lake city on march I 1 1934 the utah farm production credit association was born and on next wednesday it if fifth birthday will be celebrated during this time the association has loaned its organization came about in the spring ot of 1934 when utah farmers and livestock men decided these was a need for a cooperative association that would make short term loans on the budget plan at a low rate of interest after several meetings articles of incorporation were drawn up on february 8 1934 but the charter did not arrivo arrive mw march 1st ast of that year the incorporators were T A i butterfield riverton riv erton lawrence christensen delta M J davies morgan W W evans eva ns layton lay ton abe hansen hamen richfield W E hammond american fork G F hobson hoyt aville W L hoyt nephi S E hyer lewiston T W jensen mt pleasant osey jenson honeyville H A nielson spanish fork W T owens jr panguitch L W peterson emery G F stallings eden E E williams cedar city F D williams minersville T S winterton charleston P E grantsville Grants ville following organization of the association so a board of directors consisting of nine members were chos n and T A butterfield made president later this board was reduced to five retaining mr butterfield as president ores ident the first office of the association was located in the first national bank building salt lake city and remained until 1938 1936 when it was moved to its present location the beneficial lite life building 47 W so temple E K winder has been secret secretary ary treasurer since its inception at this time over farmers farmer and livestock men of utah have acquired stock ownership of in the association |
