Show FARMERS URGED TO SIGN WEED CONTROL ahe morgan county weed control c held a meeting at the court house tuesday evening the county weed program was formed and the weed supervisor frank S portor portar was given instructions to begin signing the farmers on weed agreements errol eddington chairman pointed out the seriousness of the weed problem ile he is asking that all farmers of the county cooperate so that an effective control can be had with all noxious weeds county agent richards secretary reports that the basis on which the farmers the county and the state will will cooperate were decided at this meeting the county will pro provide vide he necessary beeders for regular where control methods thru cultivation are desired the armors may use these beeders and 10 lo 10 their own work under the direction ot of the weed supervisor if they 0 desire if it is necessary to hire teams and men to do the cultivating the farmers will be charged one halt half of the cost it if a tractor Is hired to cultivate the larger patches of weeds a charge of per hour will be made to the farmers for those who desire small patches of weed sprayed they will pay one half Ini of the cost of the spray chemical in the case of plots ot of ground to be cultivated it Is expected that the owner will plow the land and have it put in proper condition tor for using the cultivators mr Rc richards bards reports that according to the plan of the state committee the county committee is as follows errol eddington county commissioner carl phillips county farm bureau J H rose county agricultural conservation association W E criddle crop improvement association howard francis county planning board 0 W rollins district S C S ray whiting district agricultural inspector C R richards county agent As above frank porter Is county weed supervisor |
