Show I 1 hoytsville child struck by auto A tourist from kansas city struck the 4 year old child warren of mr and mrs walter wright with hla auto while east east last wednesday no blame is attached to the driver as he was proceeding thru town at a moderate rate of speed and as soon as he noticed the child crossing the highway directly in his path he applied his brakes the car coming to a stop within a distance distance of 40 feet the child was hit squarely by the radiator and the bumper of the car carried him about 40 feet when the car stopped he fell off the bumper and rolled a distance of 5 or 6 feet the impact caused the child to throw his hand through one of the headlight lens rec receiving biving cuts on his hand head and other parts of his body along with many severe bruises at present warren is doing fairly well the tourist was very considerate in the matter being very much upset over the accident he himself having had a son killed in an auto accident during the past month and was making this trip to try and overcome the tha grief of his loss with our newly completed highway thru town we must exercise much care when on or near it it is a veritable racetrack although we are supposed to have a 3 35 5 mile speed limit A AH H |
