Show farm mapping work progressing rapidly Rapid the agricultural C conservation 0 program lor for 1937 is going goin g forward in morgan county county agent C R richards reports that the farm farin mapp mapping ing crew has been at work e during the month of july and now have most of the farms between morgan and milton measured and platted the soil conservation service working in Milt milton richville and porterville sections are also at work measuring and preparing maps for their program arrangements have been made mr richards states whereby these two organizations will exchange maps thus eliminating the necessity sity of measuring and platting all of the farms twice mr richards also states that some of the work done earlier by the soil conservation service cannot be used by the agricultural ri conservation program because the scale of the maps does not fit into the program and according to ruling mide made cannot be used work from now on however will not be duplicated stockmen Stoc kmen interested in the range rang pro program oram will be interested to know that a range supervisor is now at work in the county checking the range land that comes under the range program sketches are made of parts of the range area the grazing capacity for each range Is determined and the supervisor rives gives help to the individual land owners in suggesting a program that may be followed to advantage mr richards further states that all of the work being done is for the purpose of conserving soil and moisture in an effort to rehabilitate the ranges and maintain the water sheds and farms in a good state of growth and soil fertility |
