Show will celebrate golden anniversary reo I 1 71 6 X q A I 1 e 1 11 4 A al 0 MR AND MRS AIRS RICHARD R FRY who will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary at their home in morgan sunday afternoon may 9 1937 from two to five cut by courtesy paden standard examiner I 1 I 1 mr and mrs richard R pry fry will celebrate their golden wedding an I 1 1 niver sary at their home in morgan sunday may ath A reception will vill be held from p in until p in friends and relatives are cordially invited richard rawle fry was born in morgan of pioneer parents richard and ann rawle fry on january 20 1864 at the age of twenty he served on a mission for the L D S church the first six months in canada after which he was sent to england serving 18 months there lie he was ordained a high priest on february 20 1887 1837 by heber J grant in december 1898 he was called on a mission for the me Y M M I 1 A A and was sent to tooele thoele stake for three months in 1887 he was called and set apart as second counselor to bp charles turner he served in this capacity for 18 years at the reorganization of the isho bishopric pric he was again set apart as second counselor which position he held for eight years he was then appointed president of the high priest quorum he served as stake missionary at different intervals vals during 1886 1889 and he was a member of the le legislature isla in 1900 1901 was appointed sheriff of morgan county to fill an term in october 1886 in 1890 he was elected sheriff of morgan I 1 county and marshall of morgan city and served until 1892 was city councilman in he H held the position of mayor four different times between 1895 awl and 1926 for twenty nine years he operated the flour null mill in morgan the last few years he has devoted his time to the upkeep up keep of his hi s garden and chickens emeline eliza toomer fry was born in morgan september ep 10 1866 the daughter of james and mary jane toomer her entire life with the exception of one year spent in bear lake valley has been spent in morgan on march 31 18 1887 8 7 she and brother fry were married in the logan temple she has been a devoted mother and an active church worker all her life she has also been active in the daughters of the pioneers had ten children nine of whom survive richard T fry mrs ernest D brimley Brt mrs BW heiner all of morgan lee R fry ot of salt lake city joseph R pry fry ol of delta utah lester W fry of salt lake city mrs norris wadsworth bugo philippine islands mrs alfred N olsen and mrs jarvis koffard of brigham city also twenty eight grandchildren all the children will be in attendance for the reception with the exception of mrs wadsworth the family home has been the same the entire period of their married life and it stands within a j few hundred ya yards ads from the spot where sister fry was born |
