Show 4 11 CLUBS HOLD SHORT COURSE AT STATE COLLEGE personal and economic problems that are confronting the young men and women on utah farms were discussed for three days last week at the first annual 4 H club short course at the utah state agricultural college seventeen counties were represented with delegates delegate s to the special course which was conducted under the direction of D P murray M miss is myrtle davidson Dav ldson state club leaders and eugene merritt of the united states department of agriculture extension service the delegates were divided into five fi ve discussion groups during the three day school group leaders slon sion assigned to each unit to aid in were elected and suggestive discus the program which included such topics as what do we want most out of bae how can we break unsatisfactory habits what shall I 1 choose for a vocation in life special lectures were given by william peterson of the extension service president elmer G peterson of the college dr E A jacobsen of the department of education and psychology and mr merritt you cant succeed in farming U unless you like it mr merritt said habits should be developed thai that will carry you on in your work after you leave your parents home and have no one to call you in the morning or outline your tasks those people who love farming get gei fully 50 per cent more in brodu production action from animals and crops than those whose hearts are some place else it is our aim here to help the young men and women find out if they are fitted for farming and if they are really interested in making their lifes work if there Is a mutual interest between husband and wife the will succeed 11 summit county was represented by ruth sharp betty bedell coal ville reno gibbons parley wilde marion |
