Show 4 H clubs enlarge scope of projects for wartime years project work Is a main feature of 4 11 club work in 1944 under the slogan we can do more in 41 members will attempt to meet their own goals in cooperation with the national food fights for freedom program pledges taken by the 4 11 boys and girls included a pledge to raise and conserve as much food as possible in 1944 last year 4 H members throughout the nation exceeded their goals by far and the aim this year Is to produce and conserve on an even larger scale club members will also attempt to conserve ement essential ial materials and equipment and buy only what Is absolutely necessary labor demands will bo be relieved by the 4 H pledge to 0 o volunteer their help in the farm labor shortage on their own firms farms and those of their neighbors if parents are needed for extra work or employment away from home boys and girls will take on the responsibility of that work they will improve their health which is part of the original pledge of AH A 4 H in addition participation in special wartime activities such as buying wat stamps and bonds collecting scrap materials te rials and protecting property fire and other hazards will be emphasized pha sized by the 4 11 youth of utah realizing that rationing means sharing they will be ready for more of this essential government program last of the general alms involves helping to develop the proper morale of all rural young people andallo and also a sense of responsibility in the successful carrying on of the war each general project of 4 11 club work in post past years has been listed for expansion by the members and their leaders in home projects livestock crops gardening forestry home grounds and rural electrification all work will be accelerated to meet the demands of 1944 the final drive to secure 4 11 club leaders and get all agricultural clubs organized before june 1 is now being made the county agent announced |
