Show tax free gasoline for farm tractors vetoed by governor utah farmers lost a longstanding long standing fight here monday when governor herbert B maw vetoed S B 65 which would have relieved the farmers from payment of the state gasoline tax on all fuel used in farm machinery passed by recent legislature the bill provided that farmers could obtain tax refunds on all gasoline purchased for use in farm machinery on oil presentation of receipts and other evidence to the state tax commission ma maw objected to the bill on the grounds it loudl cost the state between and during the biennium bienn lum to enforce the law the governor governo said he vetoed the gas tax exemption bill because the legislature failed to appropriate funds fr for administration of the act and also that the lawmakers had prohibited transfer of funds from one department to another to handle emergencies or provide revenues to administer such acts as this |
