Show upton lads accomplish i the impossible I 1 it takes nerve and plenty df it ta go fo over a cliff on the end of a vol pe I 1 to td rescue a ewe and lamb maro marooned onea on a ledge but two upton lands keith wright and bill clark did that last sunday A ewe evve and lamb I 1 belonging to ray staley had bad been marooned on a ledge on pine clift tor for at least five days the two boys volunteered to rescue them saturday they made their first attempt and famed failed sunday accompanied by mr staley the two boys climbed to the toy tov of the cliff then HI staley lowered them one at a time oer der the cliff to the ledge that held the ewe ewd and lamb the boy roped the sheep and mr staley hauled them up the cliff then the boys came up it an esusy easy job too as eye witnesses will tetley as pine cliff is a high one of the straight up and arid down variety and a slip would mean almost certain death so the boys really deserve a lot of credit for their humanitarian rescue As to how that old ewe and her awkward d offspring gained that perilous ledye will probably proba fly remain a mystery forever |
