Show morgan county pays honor to pioneer founders of utah morgan county celebrated the eighty fifth anniversary of that memorable day when a footsore leg weary caravan arrived in the valley of the great salt lake to begin the building of this truly wonderful intermountain empire the celebrations by milton peterson and porterville wards were not only in honor of that long march from the mississippi river river but the accomplishments of that hardy band of pioneers and the thousands who followed before the coming of the railroad all business activities were suspended monday the coming of the pioneers to utah their trials faith and accomplishments formed the subject of the addresses splendid musical and literary programs were given followed by delightful picnic dinners at noon the afternoon was given over to sports of a various nature fair weather blessed i the double holiday giving thousands of citizens an opportunity for fe recreation creation and rest |
