Show X I 1 PARADE PA RADE FEATURES BIG celebration AT MORGAN PRIZES AWARDED MOST beautifully 41 DECORATED CARS 1 N AND FLOATS N the celebration on wie me at morgan was without doubt one of the best ever given in hi the V e county the day of celebrating bezan began at sunrise when the bombardment committees in the various wards I 1 completed otheir ithell part of the program the ile flag raising ceremony by the boy scouts was given at the I 1 court house and high school the parade under the direction f of R G robison and his committee members were the best ever seen in the county the morgan high school band led the march from the fair grounds down commercial avenue and to the stake tabernacle in south morgan most of the business houses in the county were represented in the parade wards and stake organizations responded to the call and entered beautiful and interesting floats the daughters of the pioneers sponsored spona ored the movement of having all the original pioneers ride in the parade prizes tor for the best floats were awarded as follows milton ward covered wagon first utah poultry producers association Amo dation second and the city and county fire department third the first prize for the hest best dec orated car was awarded to the first national bank and the second to J J johnston many beautiful floats were entered and aill aal are to be congratulated on the beautiful display made following the parade an appropriate program was given at the stake tabernacle under the direction of chairman E E anderson and his committee it was attended by a huge crowd and enjoyed by everyone the daughters of the pioneers Plon eRrs banqueted the original pioneers of morgan county on the lawn after the program the pioneers inspected the log cabin brought to the lawn by the organization the cabin will be dedicated as soon as it has been repaired during the early afternoon the sports committee und under erthe ithe direction of J R tippetts entertained the youngsters on the stake house lawn many prizes were given of particular interest was the pole climbing contest tor for the boys at two thirty the band entertained in an hours program on the lawn after which the crowd left for the fair grounds to watch the base ball game between peterson and morgan the day was completed by a dance at como springs the central committee wishes to thank all who acted on committees or in any way helped to make the celebration a success |
