LEGHORN HENS AS MOTHERS although called Non sItters Occa occasionally one la in found and will cover many eggs egg although the leghorns Leg horns borns are called non sitters I 1 I 1 they do sit bit occasionally and I 1 like ilka them very much as mothers ers it would hardly seem possible that a leghorn hen would cover more A al at toa single comb leghorn CESS ggs than a cochin but it Is a fact say a writer in an exchange the cochins wings aro are short and stubby while the leghorns Leg horns wings are long and she will spread them over a big nest tul last summer a leghorn incubated 20 begs eegs for me and hatched 13 19 0 of them it was however in the mouth month oi of july and her nest was carefully arranged in a basket but I 1 nevor never give them less than IS 15 they take excellent care of their young being light weight they seldom hurt a chicks by stepping on it and they will fight intruders fiercely
