WORK OF BEES IN ORCHARDS it haa bee been n proved that little honey gatherers are responsible for crot Cros on it has been a 4 matter of doubt until recently na as to just what agencies were responsible for cross in apple or orchards it was wail thought that the w wind ind was a factor as well as th the a honey bees and other insects it has baa been proved however that the tha wind has haa very little to do in aiding cross pollen aaion and that honey bees wild been ind and othi other rIn Insects secta are very necessary tor for tho the transference of pollen to determine the importance ot of the honey bee and other insects as factors in cross pollination an experiment was waa carried on oa by the kansas experiment station under the direction of james IV mcculloch assistant en ell wind kasnot considered inthe test teat because it was found that wherever apples were grown far from an apiary only a small email amount of fruit was grown it was found that tame bees were the predominating insects visiting the flowers they visited the trees from rom early morning until sundown cloudy or windy weather seemed to reduce their number and they did not begin flying until offer after the tha dew had bad lett left the trees
