J Anderson mayor Mayo Sorensen and Merrill Maylett councilmen The Republicans picked incumbent incumbent in in- Mayor Frank Garbe as their mayor nominee They also picked incumbent Lloyd R. R Nielsen and W W. Averill Larsen Larsen Lar Lar- sen to seek the council posts Mr Anderson retired Oct 1 from his duties at the Manti lanti Post Office where he served for over 30 years He was retired retired re reo re- re tired lUred from the Air Force in July He is also Sanpete County County Coun Coun- ty Civil Defense director Mr Sorensen is actively engaged engaged en en- in the parachute business business business busi busi- ness in Manti His firm is now working on contracts which will keep them busy for some months ito to come He has been active in church and civic af af- af fairs Livestock and the grocery store business are the pursuits of Merrill Maylett's life He runs the Manti ManU Grocery Store for C. C G. G and Wilbur Braith Braith- waite The Republican nominee for mayor Frank Garbe Garb has four years experience in this position He served as manager manager man man- ager of a local canning firm for a number of years and now enjoys doing some farm work The car business occupies Lloyd R. R Nielsen's time He was appointed to serve out the remainder of the late Ray P P.
