Show L. L Anderson Retires A familiar face is missing from behind the counter at atthe atthe atthe the Manti Post Office these days The disappearance took place last Friday October 1st when Leslie J. J Anderson a veteran post office employee retired Mr Anderson has a long career with the postal service and the United States armed forces He started as a postal carrier on Jan 1 1930 In 1955 he was named as a postal clerk a position he held until his retirement last week Mr Anderson was was' also retired retired re reo tired from the Air Force on July 1 1965 He entered the National Guard on July 5 1923 where he served until March 2 1941 when he entered entered en the regular military service He spent from March 3 1941 to January 26 1946 on active duty He then joined with a reserve component until until un un- un til his retirement He held the rank of lieutenant colonel with 41 years 11 months and 24 days showing on his rec- rec rec ord In 1931 he married Iris Denison The couple now have three children Verla A. A Sorensen Soren Soren- sen Salt Lake City Joyce A. A Peacock Bountiful and Lee J. J Anderson Manti ManU |
