S Carlson hired a two-seated two buggy to take his chosen bride Bertha her parents and his parents to the Manti ManU Temple Temple Tem Tern pie where their marriage was solemnized On October 5 1910 Mr Carlson bade fond farewell to his bride of less than a month and left the the- mission home in Salt Lake City to fill a 2 year mission in Sweden Sweden- During During Dur Dur- ing this time Mrs Carlson worked in the kitchen at the Manti ManU Temple The work was pleasant and the workers co-workers were fine people Seven children blessed ithe the union of Ed and Bertha Two were called by death in In in- In- In fancy They are Ivan E E. Clair R. R and Vernon J J. J of Spanish Fork Mrs Ivan D D. Beulah Voorhees of Salt Lake City and Carl J of Bountiful She also has 28 grandchildren and five great grandchildren Mr Carlson passed away in December 1952 Since 1962 Mrs Carlson has spent most of her time with her children but still affirms there is no fairer spot on Gods God's green earth or finer folks than are in Manti The family requests requests' no gifts |
