Show Council Mulls Offer The Manti City Council last Monday night heard a proposal proposal sal by three members of the Manti ManU American Legion Post No 31 to obtain a surplus jet aircraft for display at the city park Heading the Legion delegation delegation delegation tion was Commander Frank Other members were Don V V. Tibbs and Leslie J J. J Anderson They said ithe the aircraft aircraft aircraft air air- craft if ordered would be available in 90 to days It was pointed out that the usable parts would be taken off but the main ones would be left on The craft would be obtained through the Air National Guard The purpose of the Legion visit was to gain space in the park and solicit the aid of the city in moving the craft should that help be needed A motion was was' made and passed unanimously that the city accept the proposal of the Legion and make space available available avail avail- able for the jet A detailed investigation investigation investigation in in- will be made by bythe bythe bythe the city to select a location for the plane Donnell Anderson assistant plant manager at the Pacific Trail Sportswear plant in Manti Man Man- ti appeared before the council council council coun coun- cil with a letter from Lester Johnson plant manager Tl The e letter was in regards to the use of the Manti ManU City Dump Grounds Mr Johnson said the firm wanted to cooperate with the city but that it was necessary necessary essary that they have access to ItO the dump every day After discussion on the matter matter mat mat- ter it was decided to have one of the Manti ManU City employees accompany the Pacific Trail driver to the dump each day at pm p.m. The city employee will be empowered to burn the material each day This arrangement arrangement arrangement ar ar- ar- ar was put on a a. temporary temporary tem tern basis to t see how it will work out ouk The reason for the early morning burning hour was due to the fact that there is not much wind at that time Marshal Calvin D.
