G will honor their parents at an open house celebrating their wedding anniversary to be beheld beheld beheld held in the Manti ManU Center Ward Chapel on Saturday July 3 from to 1030 pm p.m. Relatives Relatives Rela tives and friends are invited They request no gifts gUts The couple were married inthe in inthe the Manti ManU Temple in 1915 They are parents of six chil chil- dren They are Neil Provo Dean Corvallis Oregon Kay Manti Don Salt Lake City Audrey Bonnell and Clair Glair Og- Og den They have 35 dren Mr has engaged en in farming educational religious civic and political activities activities activities ac ac- ac- ac for 50 years He taught at the Manti High School for 20 years and has had years of teaching in Church organizations He was president of the and Supt of the Sunday School in inthe inthe inthe the Manti North Ward In 1925 he was a missionary for the Church in California He presently presently pres pres- teaches the High Priest class in his ward He served as president of the Manti ManU Commercial Club He has also been a member of the Sanpete County Fair Board a city councilman for two terms and mayor of ManU Manti Man Man- ti U for three terms In 1937 Governor Blood appointed appointed appointed ap ap- ap- ap pointed Mr as state director of NY NYA A and three years later he became regional director of the seven western states Alaska and Hawaii Hawa i. i At the beginning of the Second World War he supervised supervised su suo su- su housing of men and boys brought from the Intermountain Intermountain Intermountain Inter- Inter mountain states to the Pacific Coast where they were trained trained train train- ed in welding and machine work preparatory to aircraft and shipbuilding activities inthe in inthe inthe the war effort In 1951 he was named administrative officer for the OPS and later was named state director For the past 11 years he has been a field man for the Chamber Cham ber her of Commerce of ot the US U.S. He has served as precinct and county chairman of the Democratic Party in Sanpete County several times and gave the keynote address in the state convention in 1940 Mrs besides caring for her large family worked in the Primary Association Association Association Assoc Assoc- for more than 30 years She acted as a Relief Society visiting teacher class leader and also president of the Relief Relief Re Re- lief Society in the Manti North Ward She worked Inthe in inthe inthe the Sunday School HA and was an ordinance worker in the Manti ManU Temple for nine years She is a past president of the Manti ManU Ladies Literary Club and the Hopeless Club She has also been active in Red Cross PTA and DUP or or- The were married in December of 1915 but this is the only time the family can ge together |
