Show Former Manti Mant Ju Judge Passes Away in SL 51 Graveside services were held Monday at 3 pm p.m. at the ManU Manta Cemetery for Judge John Andrew Hougaard 86 who died Wednesday at 3 pm p.m. in a Salt Lake rest home of natural causes The former judge served in inthe inthe inthe the Seventh Judicial District from 1936 to 1948 which included included in in- Sanpete Carbon San SanJuan SanJuan SanJuan Juan Emery and Grand Coun Coun- ties He lIe had practiced law in Manti ManU and had been active in legal and civic affairs in southern Utah He was Sanpete County attorney attorney attorney at at- torney for four lour terms and had been legal adviser to several communities in Sanpete in in- eluding Manti He was a member member member mem mem- ber of the Utah State Bar Association Association Association As As- for 50 years A civil engineer before practicing law he designed the grounds of the Manti Temple At the time of his death he was a high priest in inthe inthe inthe the Colonial Hills Ward He was born in Manti ManU July 24 1877 a son of John H. H and Patrea Peterson Hou Hou- gaard He married Jessie Anderson Anderson Anderson An An- derson in 1911 in SL St George She died Sept 1 1922 He married Isabel Hoggan Aug 27 1932 in Salt Lake City The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Surviving are his widow and two daughters Mrs Virginia H. H Harder Logan Mrs Richard Richard Rich Rich- ard A.
