R Lynn Nielson JohnHenry JohnHenry John JohnHenry Henry Nielson accompanied by Lamar Wansley made their annual trek last Friday to the Nielson cabin in Manti Canyon Canyon Can Can- yon to measure the snow and make another record record- of the snow around the cabin and to enjoy a bit of skiing The trio left Manti ManU Friday evening at in jeeps which they abandoned near Pole Haven above the Cottonwoods after following the tracks made by a Snowmobile which recently went up the canyon to measure snow They rode rodeon on the crusty snow to this point but were fearful of it breaking through so changed to and continued the trek which took them some 33 hours to complete arriving arriving arrive ing at the cabin at 11 pm p.m. In noting the snow fall they determined that there was some four feet of snow as measured on the lower pane of the cabin window In comparing comparing comparing com com- paring with their notes from last year they noted that last year all the south slopes were comparatively bare and that they had trouble skiing last year as there were bare spots in the road This was not true this year After spending the night Inthe in inthe inthe the cabin they returned home around noon Saturday after leaving the cabin at af am a.m. They note that Manti ManU will perhaps not be too short of water this year unless there should be a fast runoff in the spring Mr and Mrs Lee W.
