E 7 Shown working In the MACE trailer are Alan Eloise Voorhees Patsy Thompson and Hal Woolsey Ivan Williams Greg Thompson Larry Stott Parents will meet with MACE personnel Bradley Lynn Connie Williams and Mr Bradley during the coming week MACE project beckons parents of ninth grade Sf students to Parents of ninth grade students students students stu stu- dents at the Ephraim Junior High School will be returning to the classroom sometime during during during dur dur- ing the next week according to Larry Bradley counselor at the school Members of the ninth grade class have been engaged In the Mobile Assisted Career Exploration Exploration Exploration Ex Ex- project since March This program works with each student in making logical educational and occupational career choices The first part of the sessions with the freshmen students were devoted to going over tests taken by the students last year The tests given by the state employment office were Kuder's Kuders Kuders Kuder's Kuders Kuder's Ku- Ku ders der's Preference Record and anda a general aptitude test battery Working with the students are Robert and Linda Charton of Salt Lake City and Larry Bradley The program Is be beIng being being be- be ing sponsored by the Utah State Board for Vocational tion The parent conferences wIllbe will willbe willbe be held from April 10 to 16 The parents along with their child will meet with one of the three who have been conducting conducting conducting con con- ducting the career sessions for fora a minute 30 conference They will discuss the tests and tell the parents about some of the jobs that their student seems interested in as well as l his s aptitudes The MACE Project is de designed designed designed de- de signed to assist rural youth in Utah This year the mobile trailer unit will serve 16 schools which are made up of over 1000 ninth graders They will visit each school twice The students will spend an average average average aver aver- age 13 to 14 hours with the counselor and instructor during the course of the project Eight school districts are participating in n the program They are South Sanpete Piute Washington Washingto Wayne Beaver Iron Kane and Garfield |
