Show STAhLE By LARRY STAHLE Nonchalance is the ability to look like an owl when youve you've acted like a jackass Ill I'll bet a majority of Mantis Manti's citizens have forgotten that the city's garbage crews make pickups pickups pickups pick pick- ups twice a month At least that thatis is the way it looks around town by the amount of garbage that is placed on the curb The collections are made on the first and third Mondays of each month Last Monday the garbage collectors collectors collectors col col- col- col lectors ran into a bit of a problem problem problem lem and thus were able to only collect rubbish in a small segment segment segment seg seg- ment of the town This delay was something and Mayor Leslie J J. received a report last week on the unlimited bull elk hunt held last year in this area I thought it would be worthwhile printing it to give some idea of how it turned out The report read as follows Last fall something different was tried in management of our elk herd Unlimited number of permits was issued for bull elk only Some 1874 licensed hunters hunters hunters hunt hunt- ers stalked the noble elk on the Manti Forest bull elk were killed for a hunter success of 20 per cent This was a higher kill than expected ex ex- The Department of Fish and Game and the Forest Service people believe Utah My only opinion is that most sportsmen had a different feeling feeling feeling feel feel- ing about the hunt These sportsmen sports sports- men should make a greater ef- ef ef effort effort fort to attend the Big Game meetings held around the state and then voice their opinions I Although most teenagers do donot donot donot not know it the trouble with their father is that he remembers say we have been happy during th the past eight years to send the paper free to the missionaries and we plan to continue this policy Because of postal costs and regulations we have had to set down a few rules of our own First of all we do not send the paper to any missionary unless unless un un- less they or their parents specifically specifically ask for it Next we require that when a change of address is received by parents that we be notified im im- mediately Sending a paper to toa t toa a former address is both costly and a waste of time When Then the paper is sent to the wrong address address address ad ad- dress the post office sends back the address label assessing us lOc for it The paper will be sent to the missionaries serving in foreign countries but only to the mission home address It has been our experience that the paper takes between three and six weeks to arrive at its foreign destination in which time the recipient could have been moved once or twice If we receive an address label back from the post office that they have been moved we take the missionary off the mailing list until the parents supply a anew anew anew new address We Ve know that these regulations may seem to be a bit tough but at the present day cost of paper and mailing we do not have any other course to follow Over the past 7 71 years we have had between our two papers papers papers pa pa-
