Show Notes From Temple Information Bureau Busy Week i The past week at the Manti Temple Bureau of Information II has been a busy one announce Mr and Mrs Preal George who are in charge of the Bureau Mission The guides had expected a tapering off but it seems the tourists must have been making their return trips and chose Highway 89 with a stop at the Manti fanti Temple grounds Tourist Travel Down Reports tabulated by t the h e Temple grounds and the Bureau Bureau Bureau Bur Bur- eau of Information guides also alsofrom alsofrom from outside areas as well as local seem to indicate that tourist tourist tourist tour tour- travel for 1954 is much smaller small small- er than for other years Road building operations leading to this area could be a cause Yet with the new facilities coupled with the efficiency ncy of the local enthusiasts to magnify their calling calling calling call call- ing as hosts to the tourists and their guests the 1954 season must go down in the record as asa asa asa a banner year Continuing their report of Bureau activities Mr 1 and Mrs 1 George state To the guides these missionary mission mission- ary experiences have been a joy beyond all expectations Any degree of success which may have been attained by the Bureau Bureau Bureau Bur Bur- eau can be attributed to the type and quality of the people from Ephraim and Manti who have worked as guides They have come from all walks of life the professions business musicians c colI college o l l e g e teachers housewives farmers recent converts converts converts converts' con con- verts verts' to the church bishops high councilmen returned missionaries missionaries mission mission- aries aries These guides realize that they are arc dealing with the cream of the crop They attempt to to- gain the confidence and friendship of the visitors by making simple statements of Latter-day Latter Saint faith and do doctrine trine avoiding ar arguments arguments arguments ar- ar and so-called so mysteries Since most tourists have no ac acquaintance acquaintance acquaintance ac- ac whatever with doctrines the guides tell teIl them simple and interesting stories of the pioneers and how their faith led them to make the sacrifices and do the great works they did Coupled with this are bits of local history which the tourists tourists tourists tour tour- also enjoy It has been an extreme pleasure pleasure pleasure pleas pleas- ure to work with these guides Mr and Mrs George continue because of their promptness dependability sincerity and ef ef- ef It has also been a pleasure to be associated with the stake presidency Temple presidency and the personnel who work in the Temple and on the Temple grounds It has been a joy which will always be remembered and cherished |
