Show Sanpete Red Cross plans ans fund campaign The Sanpete Chapter of the American Red Cross announced plans this week to conduct its annual fund dri drive ve campaign during during during dur dur- ing the month of March The Red Cross in Sanpete County has normally conducted conduct conduct- ed Its campaign In the fall but this has not been successful success success- ful according to Mrs LaRue M. M Nielson chairman of the local chapter Mrs Nielson said that she felt that It was Important for forthe forthe forthe the people of Sanpete County to know how their money that they donate is used She noted that 50 of each dollar contributed remains in Sanpete County Mrs Nielson outlined the program In Sanpete County as follows For many years we have tried to send one student from each higH school In the county to the Red Cross youth leadership leadership leadership lead lead- school held at Utah State University In Logan at a cost of 40 each We have sent from two to four lour students from our area to the Red Cross Aquatic School at a cost of 75 per student Our blood program costs us per year Blood used for recipients from and In Sanpete hospitals was a total of oC units not counting gamma globulin globulin globulin glo glo- bulin used In this area Gw Gwen n Jacobson has served as dIrector director director tor of the blood program She lists the following amounts used by Sanpete residents In various hospitals Sanpete Hospital units Gunnison Valley Hospital Hospi Hospi- tal units Hol Holy Cross Hospital Hospital Hospital Hos Hos- pital two units Salt Lake LES Hospital 12 units Veterans Veteran's Hospital 15 units Utah Valley Hospital at Provo 33 units Our home nursing service under the direction of or Virginia Nielson trained 50 women andis and andIs andIs Is ready and willing to give the course at any time to any group of women who want HOur It H.
