Show 14 I Council focuses attention on mounting dog problem The mounting dog problem was one of the main topics at atthe atthe atthe the ManU Mantl City Council session held Wednesday night Dec 1 at the city hall t The council reviewed numerous numerous numer- numer ous complaints from all areas of the city where people fear to walk the streets due to dogs It was noted that this Is the time of year when the animals run In packs around the streets and could cause a serious menace to ManU Mantl residents The council members voiced their opinion that they had hoped that the raise In dog license fees would help curb the stray i animal problem The council decided that Marshal Marshal Marshal Mar- Mar Cal Nielson should be Instructed instructed instructed In- In to enforce the city's ordinance which prohibits dogs from running loose from sundown sundown sundown sun- sun down to sun The penalty for dogs found running loose Is the destruction of the animal and anda C a citation Issued to the owners that are In violation of the uncontrolled or unlicensed dogs Council members felt that if ManU Mantl dog owners do not want to adhere to the present dog laws and license their animals and keep them restrained at night that perhaps a stiffer sUffer ordinance will have to be passed passed pass pass- ed requiring that the animals to kept tied or confined 24 hours a day No further action was taken on this matter The council also heard a re report report report re- re port on the Manti ManU Adult Center from its director Cal Mickel- Mickel son He told the city fathers that the terms of three members members members mem mem- bers of the Council on Aging had expired Mr l stated that Ernest Scow and Alburn Lyon had been reappointed for three- three year terms while Mrs Lila Keller Keller Keller Kel Kel- ler was named to succeed Lloyd O.
