C Nicholls son of Sena and Clair Nicholls of Manti Man Man- ti who has just completed his second year as a wildlife biologist 1st with the Division of Wildlife Service will leave in January to attend an orientation of the National National National Na Na- Wildlife Refuge System He has just recently returned from South Dakota where he worked in the preservation of the endangered footed black ferret ferret ferret fer fer- fer- fer ret which is nearly extinct in that area Toms Tom's wife Linda daughter of Mrs Florence Olsen of Ephraim Ephraim Eph Eph- raim announced also that she has completed her education with witha a major in biological science She graduated from Snow College College College Col Col- lege in 1965 attended Utah State University for one year with Tom Toni while he was completing his education in Wildlife Management Management Man Man- then transferred to the University of Utah She has now graduated from the U with a point four A average this quarter quarter quarter ter and an overall B average in her four years of college work Here to spend Christmas with their parents the Lloyd Johnsons JohnSons Johnsons John John- sons were Mr and Mrs Larry Joyce Thayne of Hunter Miss Karen Johnson of Salt Lake City and Mr and Mrs Grant Johnson of Sandy Also recently visiting in the Lloyd Johnson home was another er son Lt Dean L. L Johnson and wife Dean is presently stationed stationed stationed sta sta- sta- sta with the US U.S. Army at Colorado Springs and was recently recently recently re re- re- re sent with his helicopter to Arizona to help airlift the Indians Indians Indians In In- from the snowbound areas The weary pilots worked in hi 24 hour shifts to get the Indians all out in time for Christmas Mr and Mrs Steven Elaine Gray of Salt Lake City visited in Manti and Ephraim during the Christmas holiday in the Frank and Russell Gray homes Mr and Mrs J. J C. C Huntsman were very surprised Christmas Day when a nephew Alton Morrill Morrill Mor- Mor rill nh whom they hadn't seen sten for many years came to visit Mr Morrill Merrill is a cattleman and spends much of his time at the King Ranch in the Henry Moun Moun- He was accompanied by a sister and law in Mr and Mrs Vendell of Richfield They also visited briefly with Mrs Joy Clarke and family Mr and Mrs Edgar Merriam were very happy to have all ten of their children home for Christmas this year Coming on Christmas eve were Mr and Mrs Earl Ursenbach and children children children chil chil- dren from Mt Pleasant Mr and Mrs David Poulsen n and children Sandy Mr and Mrs LaVoy Hansen West Jordan Mr and Mrs Drew Merriam and Mr and Mrs Wayne Merriam and family Manti Mantl Arrivals on Christmas Day were Mr and Mrs Dan Thomas and children of Spring Glen Utah and Mr and Mrs Lyle Kump and children of Salt Lake A Christmas dinner was served to 34 family members John Clarke son of Mrs Joy Clarke called Manti from Denmark Denmark Denmark Den Den- mark Christmas day to assure his w wife e Randi and family of his safe arrival there This has been his first opportunity to meet his mother-in-law mother Mrs Karen Sorensen of Copenhagen Denmark Denmark Denmark Den Den- mark and her son Kaare Sorensen Sorensen Sorensen Sor Sor- ensen of London England Mr Clarke is currently stationed with the Naval forces in the Mediterranean area and was granted a few days Christmas leave to make this trip overland to Denmark He will report back to his ship early in January for further duty The visit should prove to be an interesting experience experience experience since Mr Clarke does not nol speak the Danish language and Mrs Sorensen does not speak English Mr and Mrs Max Hansen and Mr and Mrs Edwin and two children spent Christmas at atthe atthe atthe the home of Larry and Berdine Morley in Centerville Tina Chapman daughter of Mrs Nina Chapman entered the Primary Childrens Children's Hospital on Tuesday Dec where she was scheduled to undergo surgery surgery surgery sur sur- gery on Wednesday Dec |
