Show LETTER LETIER TO THE EDITOR Dear Editor We have always thought that Manti anti has one of the prettiest we have ever seen located as it is at the foot of the temple grounds and as it is isso isso isso so well maintained We Ve have often often often of of- ten wanted to take a picture of the cemetery but are restrained from doing so because so many of the taller headstones are leaning leaning leaning lean lean- ing in all directions giving part of the cemetery a rather grotesque grotesque grotesque que and neglected look The rest of the cemetery is so sowell sowell sowell well kept up that it seems a shame to let those leaning headstones headstones headstones head head- stones spoil the general appear appear- ance We are constantly boosting Manti to our friends and as a result we have many visitors during the summer As we give them a guided tour of Manti they almost invariably say Why in the world dont don't you Manti l folks do something about those leaning headstones We Ve have been told that when the stones fall completely over they are hauled out to the dump by the city but that there is some legal point about city employees employees employees em em- touching the plots which would be necessary in order to straighten up the leaning stones This seems odd as the plots must be touched if they are given perpetual care as we understand understand understand under- under stand they are We believe that straightening the leaning stones would be an easy and inexpensive job and it would certainly greatly improve the appearance of our cemetery We love Manti ManU and many of our good friends have been laid to rest in the cemetery and many more will follow in the future perhaps even ourselves Surely the owners of the cemetery cemetery cemetery tery plots involved would bemore be bemore bemore more than glad to have the leaning leaning leaning lean lean- ing stones straightened up by the city and the small expense involved involved involved in in- in- in could be charged to Civic Pride MR AND MRS H.
