J Elliot Cameron Snow director She is a graduate of the high school at Ammon Idaho and of nicks flicks College and received her Master of Science degree from Brigham Young University last August She taught at Snake River High School last year After telling that she enjoyed the year she stated I III am certainly certainly certainly convinced that teaching is one of the most challenging and inspirational occupations one could have in a letter written ritten to this paper in reply to a request for some information information tion Hon concerning her Is Farm Girl I I have ha lived on a farm all my life liCe with the exception of when when- I have been away to school and part of that time I lived with a family on a farm Naturally I have a definite at attachment attachment attachment at- at to farm life she wrote I am looking forward to a most enjoyable and challenging year ear at Snow College and hope to make many friends in that area Parents From Utah Miss Hatton was born in March 1933 at Idaho Falls a daughter of Ruland T T. and Eva Haroldsen Hatton They lived at Coltman at the time but moved moved moved ed to St. St Leon and then to Ammon in 1936 all of which are just a few miles from Crom Idaho Falls Her parents are both natives of Utah and both fulfilled missions prior to their marriage Her father Cather was born and grew to manhood in Fillmore Her mother mother mother mo mo- ther moved with her family asa as asa asa a child from Hyrum Byrum Utah to Idaho She has an older brother brother brother bro bro- ther a high school teacher in Wyoming and two taro younger sis sisters sisters sisters sis sis- one of whom is a senior at Logan and the other a sophomore at Ricks College Rexburg Receives Scholarship Miss Hatton received a seminary seminary seminary ary scholarship to Ricks College a deciding factor in her attending attending attending attend attend- ing that school In her Freshman Freshman Freshman Fresh Fresh- man year at Ricks she received the Faculty Women Scholarship given to the most outstanding girl in Home Economics She received re received received re- re the same award again at atthe atthe atthe the end of her junior year at Ricks which is a year 4 school She attended summer school at atthe atthe atthe the and the following spring graduated from Ricks with high honors I received two high honors that spring she wrote T r The h e privilege to participate in the he Hill Cumorah Pageant and a graduate scholarship to attend BYU The experience at Palmyra Palmyra Palmyra Palm Palm- yra is one I shall always re remember renumber re- re number member and cherish Miss Hatton Batton is a member of or the thc Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints and has served served served ed as Junior Sunday School organist or organist organist or- or for eight years She has also been a Dee Bee keeper a Sunday Sunday Sunday Sun Sun- day School teacher an honor Bee has received her Silver Gleaner award and at nt present is working toward becoming a Golden Gleaner She did not say just when she would arrive in Ephraim and apparently has not arranged asyet as ns asyet yet ct for living quarters |
